Debney to receive Lifetime Achievement Award
Composer John Debney will receive the 15th Annual Temecula Valley International Film and Music Festival’s Lifetime and Career Achievement Award during the event that takes place from September 9 through 13. More than 150 films will be screened during the festival, and more than 20 music artists will be showcased. The awards gala takes place at the Pechanga Resort & Casino and will be hosted by Adam Gaynor. John Debney has been scoring films since the early 1980s and has over 80 feature films on his resumé. Among the best known of his scores are the Academy Award-nominated The Passion of the Christ as well as Sin City, Bruce Almighty, Liar Liar, End of Days, Elf and I Know What You Did Last Summer. Known as one of the most reliable A-list composers in Hollywood, Debney has written music for virtually every genre with an emphasis on melody-driven orchestral scores for comedies and family movies. He is currently having Iron Man 2, A Thousand Words, Valentine’s Day and Old Dogs on his list of upcoming films.
