Ghent festival announces Badalamenti CD

The Ghent Film Festival has announced a new CD in their ‘For the Record’ series. Following their compilation albums focusing on Craig Armstrong and Mychael Danna is an Angelo Badalamenti CD, with music performed by the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Dirk Brossé. Badalamenti received last year’s World Soundtrack Lifetime Achievement Award during the 8th edition of the World Soundtrack Awards in Ghent. The proceeds of the sales of the new Badalamenti go to Unicef. The album contains music from films such as Blue VelvetUn Long Dimanche de FiançaillesCousinsLa Cité des Enfants PerduThe Comfort of StrangersTwin PeaksWild at HeartL’AdversaireEvilenko and The Straight Story. A couple of unique compositions, namely the credits music from the American series Inside the Actors Studio and the ‘Torch Theme’ from opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992, is also included.
