MovieScore Media has just announced two new CD releases that will be available during the first weeks of October. The first one features Scott Glasgow’s score for Toxic, described by the label as a modern, “urban gritty” score in the style of Harry Gregson-Williams and John Powell. Toxic is a thriller directed by Alan Pao, for whom Glasgow previously scored Chasing Ghosts, an orchestral score also released by MovieScore Media. The Toxic CD, which will also be available as a download, clocks in just over 45 minutes.

The other newly announced MovieScore Media CD also presents a score by a composer with several scores already out on the label: Guy Farley. The title of the new score is Knife Edge, which is a UK thriller directed by Anthony Hickox (Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth) and starring Hugh Bonneville, Natalie Press and Joan Plowright. Farley’s music is described as “an affectionate hommage to the classic genre film scores of the 1970s: you will hear influences of John Barry in the wonderful love theme, of Jerry Goldsmith in the atmospheric horror writing and of Bernard Herrmann in the tense suspense music and title theme.” Another recent score by Guy Farley, Book of Blood, was just released by La-La Land Records.
