nightmareComposer Steve Jablonsky continues his prolific output for film company Platinum Dunes and producers Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller scoring their latest horror classic remake, A Nightmare on Elm Street. Jablonsky has been providing the original music for other similar genre entries from the same company, including The Amityville Horror, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Hitcher and Friday the 13th. The composer is best known for his two Transformers scores. The Nightmare on Elm Street remake, which is coming out via Warner Bros. next year, stars Jackie Earle Haley in the classic Freddy Kreuger role, and other cast members include Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Katie Cassidy and Thomas Dekker. Samuel Bayer, who has a background in music video directing, is helming the project.

The original Nightmare on Elm Street series featured original scores by many different composers, the first one from 1984 featuring a memorable electronic score by Charles Bernstein. Among the sequel composers are Christopher Young, Angelo Badalamenti and Craig Safan.
