La-La Land releases Goldsmith double
Two scores by Jerry Goldsmith licenced from Paramount Pictures – the 1966 sci-fi thriller Seconds and the 1994 comedy I.Q. – is being put out on a new CD from La-La Land Records, limited to 3000 copies. The CD begins shipping on October 16 and features nearly 70 minutes of music, 38 minutes from I.Q. and 31 minutes from Seconds. The last-mentioned is presented in mono only since no stereo mixes were to be found in Paramount’s vaults. Both scores were written for directors with whom Goldsmith had typically long and enduring working relationships: John Frankenheimer directed Seconds and I.Q. was done by Fred Schepisi.
Also just announced by La-La Land is a limited edition of 1500 copies of Robert J. Kral’s music for the new CD Comics movie Green Lantern: First Flight.
