Rare James Horner score sells out instantly
Intrada Records world premiere release of one of James Horner’s lesser known scores, the 1992 drama work House of Cards, sold out instantly yesterday. The edition was limited to 1,500 copies and sequenced and produced by James Horner and his regular engineer and co-producer, Simon Rhodes. The film was a psychological drama starring Kathleen Turner and Tommy Lee Jones and featured a typically subtle and at times poetic James Horner score written primarily for strings and piano.
Intrada has also released Dov Seltzer’s complete score from The 7 Magnificent Gladiators, the Italian adventure movie directed by Bruno Mattei and starring Lou Ferrigno. This is also a world premiere recording and the score is a rousing symphonic work. Intrada’s CD is mastered from 1/4″ two-track stereo masters recorded in Italy for Cannon Films, licensed courtesy of MGM.
