Hollywood Dailies has posted a brief interview with composer James Horner, shot during the last day of scoring sessions for the much anticipated James Cameron sci-fi epic Avatar. The video features several quick glimpses of the big orchestral score, with the 56-year old Horner conducting the orchestra wearing a baseball cap. Horner says that he was allowed to work exclusively on the film for about a year and that Cameron didn’t want him to work on other projects during the time. “He did’t want me to dilute it,” Horner comments. Check it out below!

Did he say “He didn’t want me to dilute it” or “He didn’t want me diluted”? I think it’s the latter.

Ha ha, in the ATM commercial you can her Kiefer Sutherland’s voice. And Horner looks like my uncle Ricky. The gilmpses of music sounds like Horner, I want to hear the full score.
Awesome, thanks for posting this! Met James Horner just after he completed Aliens. Nice guy, he didn’t like James Cameron back then (due to the pressure Cameron put him under to pull off the Aliens score in only a couple of weeks), but obviously he does now – seems James Cameron learnt from that, having given Horner more than a year to do Avatar. Looking forward to buying this soundtrack for sure!
