Howard Shore to score ‘Twilight: Eclipse”
EXCLUSIVE. Howard Shore is on board to compose the original score for the third film in the Twilight series, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Temple Hill Entertainment today confirmed to MovieScore Magazine that the Lord of the Rings composer is going to write the music for the film, following in the footsteps of Carter Burwell (who scored the first film in 2008) and Alexandre Desplat (who wrote the music for the second, New Moon). Shore has begun work, spotting the movie, this week.
Howard Shore is, of course, best known for the Tolkien trilogy, directed by Peter Jackson, an epic work that is currently touring the world in concert form, performed live to projection. Shore also recently rescored the Mel Gibson action thriller Edge of Darkness for Warner Bros, replacing John Corigliano. This film is opening in the US next week.
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is based on the third novel in the series of four books written by Stephenie Meyer. The film is directed by David Slade (30 Days of Night and Hard Candy), with returning cast members including Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Billy Burke, Ashley Greene and Jackson Rathbone. Summit Entertainment will release the film on June 30.
OMGosh! Howard Shore is definitely my favorite composer! And Eclipse happens to be my favorite Twilight book, so I am REALLY excited! I know he will create something great!! (As always!)

Abel Korzeniowski told us the news when we interviewed him about his chances of being elected as Twilight composer. He told us the lucky guy was Howard Shore and that it was an honor to compete with him for this movie. You all can read the interview publish on January 12th.

OMG I CAN’T WAIT FOR ECLIPSE!!!!!! it’s guna be the best film it was the best book and I really can’t wait to see how it plays out i’m sooooo happy that a lot of the origanal cast are in this one cause if Taylor, Kristen or Rob are ever out so am I and probably like half the fan base of twilight! I also think that about Ashley Greene but I just love her as an actress as a person and as Alice!!!!
i will watch every sequel of Twilight because i find this movie so good. the graphics is good, the cast is good and of course the storyline is great.

i have a two ideas for soundtracks for eclipse that would fit so well to the sory line both are by shania twain the first one is called “your still the one” and the other is “from this moment on” both songs fit so well
They should put Uprising from Muse on the soundtrack. It just so goes to the theme of the movie.
