shrineUp and coming composer Ryan Shore, whose acclaimed scores include Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer, Shadows and Headspace, is going to write his second score for Jack Brooks director Jon Knautz. Their new project is entitled The Shrine and it’s a horror film about a group of journalists who investigate a cult said to practice human sacrifice. Shore plans on doing a big orchestral score with choir and subtle electronic textures (Shore’s old-fashioned score for Jack Brooks was recorded with the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra in Bratislava). The Shrine, which stars Aaron Ashmore, Meghan Heffern and Cindy Sampson, is currently in post-production and should be released later this year.
